Our goal is to breed dogs we would want to keep ourselves!

We want dogs to win with in the show ring, dogs good enough to be included into our breeding programme and most importantly dogs to love!

We love our dogs just as much as our puppy buyers love theirs, and it is through the companionship we enjoy every day with our dogs that we keep motivated to try and breed them even better in the next generation!

We have made our mistakes in the past, and learned some valuable lessons about trying to ignore the very basics in building a solid breeding programme. The truth is quite simple:

Beauty is useless without health and a good temperament!

Mentality

Both Per Morten and Ingrid have their backgrounds from performance; military patrol dogs, SAR, tracking, obedience and herding.

We like dogs with "a little more bite" - not literally of course, but dogs with plenty of character and that drive that keeps them fun to be with.

We do not accept aggression towards people. We have a young daughter and her friends running about all the time, plenty of visitors and strangers coming to visit, and would not accept dogs at home that can`t handle this.

We do not accept aggression towards other dogs, we run all ours together and expect them to behave themselves towards strange dogs as well.

Health

We are members of the Norwegian Kennel Club and the Norwegian Corgi Club and follow their Code of Ethics in our breeding programme.

All our dogs are clinically healthy and are kept in excellent physival condition throughout their life. We eye test all our breeding stock, and the ones we have bred from so far have all bein genetically free from PRA.

So far the only health problems in dogs we have bred have been mammary tumours in  a couple of older bitches, one case of epilepsy and a two cases of puppy limping.
The reasons we have chosen to exclude dogs from our breeeding programme so far have been failing temperaments and allergies (on an imported dog).

Breeding from dogs with no titles?

As you can see from our pages some of our dogs have no titles. Two of our best brood bitches ever, AT Cactus and AT Daffodil have never been to a single show but have successful offspring in Sweden, Finland, Poland, Belgium, Poland and USA!

They had small failings that keep them from the showring, but they also had huge strengths that they passed on to their puppies.

We breed dogs for their virtues, not for their lack of faults!

Ingrid is passed to judge the corgi breeds and we both have very clear ideas of the type of cardigans we want. And we always breed a litter with the hope that there will be a puppy for us to keep, never with the plan to sell the entire litter.

This is the best guarantee we can give for the quality of the puppies born at kennel All Trade.
