Our first Cardigan came to
us in 1994 from Annika Odh in Sweden. Vena did not come with a kennel name, but with
plenty of character to make up for that! Sired by a Joseter Joson son out of
a mainly Robgwen lined bitch, she carried the best of both UK and Swedish
bloodlines. Vena entertained us and drove us crazy with her antics almost to the day we had to say goodbye, and the day she left for the bridge the house became very quiet. |

Our second foundation brood came the year
after Vena, from the well known Nicknames and Cardax kennels in Sweden.
Again mostly Robgwen lines. Hedda was cute as candy floss and extremely adament about her creature comforts; she would growl at the wood fire if it wasn`t lit and she became very grumpy if put on a diet! She did well in the show ring, and was top winning Cardigan in Norway in 1996. Hedda then went on holidays to the interior designer we hired to help us renovate our house, and never came back. I will never forget her comment the day she first met Hedda "she is lovely Ingrid, you just cannot sell her puppies to ordinary people!"

Hedda was bred once to Int
Ch Corben Tri For The Top, and in the litter we got three champions; N Sw Ch All Trade Chutzpa, N SW Ch All Trade Caspar and N Ch All Trade Chorizo. But it was the never shown sister All Trade Cactus who carried the line from Hedda out into the world. Sadly it will only be her co-owners and the kids in their neighbourhood who will have experienced her mean soccer playing skills, today she would have been a huge star on You Tube! |

Our third "old lady" first
came to our friend Annette Kallevik and her GSD kennel Uranius from Finland.
Lola was a daughter of Meris super brood bitch Ch Faydom Sparkling Moonstone,
who appear frequently in our pedgrees. She was mated to her half brother, Am Ch Yardican Rescator, and from this litter we kept a girl, Meri kept a stud fee puppy and two puppies was exported to the US, including All Trade Digger who went to our friends at the Lachlan kennels. |
|
|
|
|
We never got any puppies from our girl, but
Meris All Trade Daffodil was mated to Yardican Icaros and whelped a lovely
litter. My absolute favourites were Yardican It Is Sassenach and her brother Yardican Irish Iyes
who went to kennel Jazenta in Ireland. After a year we were lucky enough to get Sofi back. She was a large and generous girl both in mind and body, and her absolute favouite in life was rearing puppies. When she was nursing both her litters at our house, she also took on puppies from other bitches, and her record was 14 at the same time! I will never forget the image of Sofi sleeping on her back in the middle of 14 six week old puppies, who all adored her but treated her with absolute respect! |
|
|
|
|
For her first litter with us she was mated to
half american Yardican Kuka Ken, grandson of well known Ch Zircons Bobby Sox.
We placed a well constructed, but half white headed, girl with a co owner
and kept a male at home. Tiger was again a large framed, sweet soul of a dog. Full of mischief as a puppy, but he grew up to be just the perfect Teddy bear that a cardigan male can be. He did very well in the show rings as well, with his first cc from the junior class at the huge Finnish specialty in 2007. He also picked several titles when he was being campaigned in Europe by Christine Sonberg. We thought Tiger was far too wonderful a boy to be "one of many" at our house, so we reluctantly let him go and live with Marianne and his half sister Lucy in 2008. Frida has had one litter so far, sired by TM, and she had five lovely boys. Two have been exported to Sweden and All Trade Walk This Way to kennel Romatome in France.

|
|
In her second litter, sired by Yardican Trail
Dust, Sofi gave us our Flora. A sweet soul like her brother Tiger,
Flora crept into our hearts almost as fast as Vena once did. She had the show debut of a lifetime going BOB, Norwegian Winner and Group 3 at her first show ever from the junior class only 12 months old! Two weekends afterwards she was BOS to Trademark, and became Nordic Winner at the largest International show in Sweden. Flora and Barney then smashed our great plans for her at the World Winner show the following year, by deciding to have an unauthorized litter of 3. Their son, All Trade Vamp, made it up to us by going BIS at his first show ever. |
|
|
|
|
In her second litter, sired by TM, Flora was
given the privelge of being the first bitch to whelp a litter on the Island.
And she did well by presenting us with seven, perfectly marked girls. One
girl went to kennel Barsø in Denmark, one travelled to kennel Aethwyn in Russia and at home we
kept Vera. But it all ended far too quickly after that. Flora went down in back and had to cross the bridge, at only four years. It broke our hearts and we feel cheated out of many good years with her.

Now for a quick trip back in time. In 1999 we had a summer visitor; Meri Aalto sent us her Zulu to be shown in Norway, and we fell head over heels. She was an incredibly feminine and sweet bitch with lovely breed type. Her sister Lola lived in Norway at the time, but we still kept an eye on what happened to Zulu. She travelled on the the US and was bred to Ch Spectrum Harlem Shuffle for an all tan pointed tri litter, that turned out to contain some of Meris most influential dogs. Yardican US Navigator (now living in Ireland) was the sire of our F litter and a few years later Yardican US Edition moved to us. We have also returned to Zulu, and her mother Faydom Sparling Moonstone, several times in later years. |
|
|
|
|
Another Zulu daugter, Yardican US Angel Kiss,
was mated to our old friend Trenwydd Silver Wizard, to produce one of our
all time favourites; GB Ch Yardican Diamond Drop. Maggie moved to Margo Hackney in England, and became Yardicans first UK champion. When we were offered a boy from Maggies
first litter, sired by Joseter Doublewood, we lept at the chance! Barney
took a long time to mature, but when he passed four he really
blossomed. Top winning cardigan in 2008 and best male at the record
Norwegian Specialty in 2009, we will have fun with him for some time to come. |

|
|
In Inkas first litter with us, sired by Yardican Kuka
Ken, we kept Ruby. Not a show bitch, but worth her weight in gold as a brood. And, funnily enough, she is also one of our most travelled dogs having been to many US states, driven in a strech limo and stayed at a five star hotel in Chaicago! Not bad for a country girl! Mated to Barney she had several promising puppies. All Trade Ragtime has won CCs for his owners in Sweden, we placed All Trade Razzmatazz with co-owner Birthe, and N Ch All Trade Rollercoaster has done some good winning for his owner Tone Nøkling. Rulle has sired one litter for Norwegian kennel "Cardigarden" where a daughter was BOB puppy at the World Show in 2010.

Ever since Ruby was born we had wanted to mate her to Am Ch Yardican Roland, who unfortunately lived in the US. "Sam" was another son of Faydom Sparkling Moonstone, and full brother to Sofis sire. With good help from our friends at kennels Cardiridge and Fernbriar, Ruby could travel over the pond and fullfill our dream. She did well, whelping a lovely litter in
Minnesota. Emma and Ingrid then had the perfect excuse to travel over for a girly
trip to Chicago, and pick the girl we wanted to return to Norway. |

All Trade Oh La La - "Leah" |
Back to Inka: for her last litter we were
finally able to our handsome US import Buddy.
Son of famed producer Ch Pluperfect Garvins Peerless, he came here in 2003, but we never had a girl suited to him before it was almost too late. He is a wonderful, outgoing spirit who charmes everybody around him, an we hope to be able to use him once more before he becomes too old. From this All Trade Oh La La went to kennel Cymraeg Ci in Belgium and All Trade Original Sin to kennel Carddicted in Sweden. Both have been bred to All Trade boys, and Leah and Tigers son Cymraeg Ci Goldigger became international champion in 2011.

Onother boy came all the way from
Australia, after our friend Anne Indergaard had judged there in 2002. We
loved her BOB and promptly begged Judith McNay to sell us a son of this
bitch. He arrived Norway january 2003 after a horrifying 88 hour trip, including a sleepover in Singapore. But Oscar was pretty bombproof, and came out of his travel crate as happy as when he left Melbourne. Maturing fast Oscar did well in the show ring, becoming top winning cardigan, Norwegian Champion and Norwegian Winner in 2004. He quickly sired several litters becoming
father to kennel Immes first litter and their first home bred champion.
Another girl from this litter became foundation brood for another new
Norwegian breeder; kennel Cardigarden. |

With invaluable help from
the Lassilas we had the great privilege of welcoming famous Ch Shadowalk
Trademark to our house in 2007. He had been top winning Cardigan in the US
and top sire as well, so we could not believe our luck. He made our lives richer
during his stay and also sired some lovely, lovely puppies both for us and
for other kennels - and now we have grandchildren and great grandchildren
appearing! We will
always be grateful to Susan and Don Lassila for sharing TM with us. |

|
Almost from the start we have cooperated with
Meri Aalto, kennel Yardican, in Finland. She has sadly disseappeared from
the breed now, but before that two lovely ladies travelled to Norway.
Yardican Dreamade was just a tiny "puplet" when I visited Meri, and I
immediately asked if I could have her. Yardican Glorious came the following
year - she is a half brother/sister mating on Yardican US Angel Kiss (dam of
our big favourite Maggie mentioned above) Kelda went to live with Maria, while Nelly went to stay with Hilde and her large family. For Keldas first litter she was mated to Trademark, and we have been very pleased with the result. |
|
|
|
We kept NW-09 All
Trade Shaken Not Stirred at home and placed lovely All Trade Stars and
Stripes with Hilde to keep Nelly company. Sisters All Trade Sugar and Spice"Pia"
(kennel Carddicted) and All Trade So What "Io" have both won classes /cc at
large shows. In 2011 "Pia" finished her Swedish title and went BIS at their
breed specialty. But not only are these girls beautiful - they have their parents lovely dispositions as well. In our first TM litter I noticed this strange thumping sound, the sound of small tails wagging sideways to hard they make a sound hitting the body of the puppy. And we have had this "beat" in all our TM litters! For Nellys first litter she was mated to handsome Dollar, pictured above, and gave us our latest addition Blue. |
|
|
|
In 2008 we got
another offer from the US that was almost too good to be true. Patrick Ormos
and Cathy Ochs-Cline let us have their lovely Brig, in return for a puppy or
two back. Brig came here, reunited with TM who she has been bred to twice in the US(!!), and gave us a litter sired by Yardican Wardance, a son of Trenwydd Silver Wizard and Faydom Sparkling Moonstone. For us it ment usinga dog from our favourite broods last litter and being able to use him for such a quality bitch was great. Cathy came over for a visit, experienced
the true party spirit of the Norwegian Corgi Club, and returned home with
All Trade Upper Crust and his sister All Trade Up To No Good. |
|
|
|
Lorek made his
debut in style, by going Winners Dog with an AOM at the large Western
Reserve Specialty for Danish breeder judge Kim Nielsen. Our Helga came off
to a late start due to a fractured leg, but became top winning bitch in
Norway in 2009 and 2010. Nemi has also won a large class at last years Danish Jubilee show, so we are looking forward to where Brigs kids will do in the future. Autumn 2010 Cathy was generous enough to let us borrow Fifty back for a litter, and she presented us with an amazingly promising litter sired by Ch Twinroc Santa Paws. The puppies all left Norway for Russia, Sweden and USA except for Star who is staying with us. |
